The family safely came back in Bulgaria and that is great news. They occupied the same niche in which we installed camera for observation last year. The things are even better, because they have laid egg and the mother is incubating, so we could hope for successfully fledged young this year. This is very important not only for this family, but for the population of the whole very fast declining species.

The Egyptian vulture is symbol of wisdom, „nature cleaning system“ and one of the most charismatic creatures for the mankind from the past till this days. Bulgarian society for the protection of birds (BSPB) is working on a 5 years „LIFE “ project financed from the European commission and foundation „A.G. Leventis“. The main task for it is to reduce threats for the species on the Balkans and to prevent it‘s extinction.
